TRAINING SCHEDULE

Program Descriptions...

HAZWOPER, a 40-hour open-enrollment course, is offered once per quarter. The class is conducted Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During that week, students may attend the entire 40 hours, the 24-hour portion Monday through Wednesday, or attend any day during the week to meet the OSHA requirement for the annual 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher.

Safety Seminar I, a 10-hour OSHA Outreach program, covers either the General Industry or Construction safety standards, depending on the audience.

Safety Seminar II, an 8-hour “How to Build an Effective Safety Program” course, takes you through the steps of building a basic health and safety program. The components of a program are discussed along with OSHA’s model program and specialty topics such as confined space, accident/incident investigation and hazard communications. The course works to the needs of the audience.

Incident Command System/National Incident Management System (ICS/NIMS), a 4-hour course, is the result of a Presidential Homeland Security Directive requiring government agencies to utilize the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
 
1st Aid/CPR, an 8-hour course, follows the curriculum established by the American Red Cross and includes Blood Borne Pathogens and the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED). read more about First Aid >>

Oil Spill Response and Control, a 24-hour course, focuses on response to land-based spills and spills to in-land waterways such as rivers and small streams. It is designed for industry and regulatory emergency response personnel who are required to respond to, manage, or oversee a spill. The course is co-sponsored by The Delaware Bay and River Cooperative (DBRC), the National Response Corporation (NRC) and the Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research. read more about Oil Spill Respose & Control >>
